PHOTOGRAPH CREATIVE STUDIES
A Creative Study is where you create multiple photographs of a subject using different combinations of creative choices. Taking a Creative Study of a subject one idea leads to another and you have a better chance of getting a truly great photograph or series of photographs.
With some subjects, you may only take one photo, while with others, you’ll take 2 or 3 photos for a Mini creative study. If the subject is particularly interesting you can take a Medium creative study of 4 to 6 photos or an In Depth creative study of 7 or more photos.

CREATIVE GUIDES & WORKSHOP

Take Your Photography to a Whole New Level
Go deeper into understanding how the creative fundamentals work with our 259 page creative photography workshop. (This workshop expands on the Creative Fundamentals found in our Creative Guides.)
VERY VISUAL WORKSHOP
VISUAL LEARNING
Easier to Learn Visually
Our Creative Combinations Photography workshop is very visual with lot of "how to" photos to make it easy to understand. I also use 14 point text which is larger and easier to read.

LEARN LIGHTING
Go In Depth on Lighting
Lighting by itself can make or break a photograph. Learning how to find and use great natural light will make an incredible difference in your photography. Photo means light and graph means to draw so photography is drawing with light.

LEARN PERSPECTIVE
Change the View of Your Subject
Lens perspective expands or compresses your subject and the area around it. Your distance and zoom will change the amount of background behind your subject as well as change the view of your subject.

CREATIVE COMBINATIONS
MUSIC - DANCING - COOKING - MARTIAL ARTS
Music is a combination of notes, cooking combines ingredients, dance and martial arts combine moves. You can combine our visual creative choices to create amazing photographs.

THE SECRET TO GREAT PHOTOGRAPHS
The secret to creating amazing photographs is not the technical settings inside the camera, it is the creative choices you make in front of the camera.

Not the Camera: Buying an expensive piano won't make you a great pianist. Buying an expensive camera won't make you a great photographer.
Not the Technical Settings: Even if you know all the technical settings on a digital camera your photographs will still be boring if you don't know how to make great creative choices.
THE STORY
As a professional photographer I noticed there were simple creative choices that would make a big difference in peoples photographs. I put them together in Four Creative Fundamentals: Composition, Angle, Lighting and Lens with 3 creative choices each.
How people combine these 12 creative choices is the creative process that helps them create amazing photographs and is a lot of fun.
I have spent years of hard work to make the creative side of photography easy for everyone to enjoy. Once you learn how to see creatively you will never look at the world the same way again.
CREATIVE COMBINATIONS PHOTOGRAPHY
IS A GREAT SOCIAL ACTIVITY & FREE FUN HOBBY
Create Social Connections Outside of the House
Creative photography is a great social activity that can get you out of the house and in places where you can meet other people. Instead of just standing around you can be looking for great subjects and combinations of creative choices to photograph.
Taking photos can be an excuse to be there. We have a weekly challenge in the Creative Guide and Creative workshop you can do to.
Always be respectful of other people. If someone asks you not to photograph something, politely say okay, smile and move on.
1. CONVERSATION STARTER: Conversations may start about you photographing something and looking at different creative choices. You can show people images you have taken on your cell phone or camera to let them see how creative your photos are.
2. SHARING PHOTOS & STORIES: You can send your photos from your cell phone to family and friends. You can also tell the story of how you found your subject and the different creative choice combinations you tried to come up with the photograph.
3. ONLINE SHARING: You can share your photos online with photo sharing websites like Facebook and Instagram which creates social activity online. You may also want to tell the story behind the photo of how you found the subject and the different creative choices you used to photograph it.
